Blizzard 2013

So the Blizzard of 2013 has  come we made it through, now it is raining only in New England. All I know is people were talking how bad it was going to be, nothing can be a bad as our blizzard of the summer of 2012.  Its a little snow, it will all be melted away and a memory.  I am thankful that everyone is safe and OK and I pray all the the workers out there helping make the street safe and  drivable.  Listen to the news and stay off the streets unless it is an emergency stay home and be safe.
Here are a few pictures of my Saturday morning before and while driving into work with my neighbor. Rick snow-blowing so i could get to the road the town finally plowed at 8AM and then Linda and I left to make it to the hospital I am thankful she drove. It was actually not a bad ride a little slip sliding in the four wheel drive. The highways were crazy like the plow trucks were drunk while plowing  there were mazes to drive in and out of.  Probably because of the white out conditions that were occurring during the night.  I went to bed and the snow was about 4 inches I woke up at 5AM and the snow was over 24 inches with drifts of over 3 feet it was crazy. Luckily the plow came through by 8am and we were off.  Some of the pictures are what we saw on the ride in. We plowed through the entrance of the highway and we had a maze to get through on the highway. I-91 north. Cars were abandoned on the highway covered in snow, a couple of tractor trailers stuck. Hartford streets were tight we got in. Now I am home and comfy in my bed.. I was an experience. My life as a nurse, we had some great patients who got in had amazing deliveries now. W all this new weather. It's gonna be a busy unit...stay safe everyone. We are staying by the fire today. When I called home the girls wanted to go on sleep overs I would not let them go as I  had not been home in 36 hours and I was being selfish so I could spend time with them since we are not going anywhere today.  Being away from them all of them they keep me alive.   I know that Nicole would have loved this snow she loved to  go out and play and go sledding and especially her and Rachel after this store would be batting there eyes and saying "please daddy can we go skiing..  "So glad I have the memories Oh the girls love the snow.  Well after just getting OOB  oh my Out of bed I have hospital lingo on the brain   I am up and now starting the day the fire is crackling I will leave you with an old picture of the girls int he snow and a lot of the ride into work.  what an adventure.   Blessed to have had a good ride in a great weekend with an awesome staff and now today  I am protected, guided and protected Than you Lord.
